Start with an index audit
1C-Bitrix is a common choice for corporate sites and online stores, including many in Tashkent and the regions. It ships with infoblocks, an SEO module and its own URL rules. These help, but the outcome depends on how the developer configured components and templates. One small mistake and a product card opens at several addresses, which a search engine reads as separate pages with identical content.
So the first question is not what to write, but what search engines see right now. Open Google Search Console and Yandex Webmaster and see how many pages are in search. Compare that with the real number of categories, products and services you have.
If the index holds far more pages than your site actually contains, duplicates are leaking in: sorting parameters, paginated URLs, print versions, internal search results. If it holds fewer, part of the site is blocked or the crawler cannot reach it. Export the indexed URLs and sort them into groups. That gives you a problem map specific to your site, which is more useful than any generic checklist.
Clean URLs and duplicates
Infoblock settings define URL templates for sections and elements. Check that:
- URLs are built from a symbolic code, not a numeric ID, and the code is transliterated automatically
- a section or product does not open at two different addresses at once
- index.php and non-index.php versions, with and without a trailing slash, collapse into one
- a product linked to several sections has one primary version
- old URLs 301-redirect to the new ones after a template change
Choosing a fix for each type of duplicate
Different duplicates call for different tools: a canonical tag, a robots.txt block or a redirect. The deciding question is whether the page deserves to appear in search.
A filter page such as “women’s dresses, large sizes” on a Tashkent fashion store may bring in buyers who search for exactly that. Sorting by price or ad-tracking parameters bring nobody. Smart filters on Bitrix can produce thousands of combinations, so keep indexable pages only for the ones people really search, and close the rest.
Service sections and developer leftovers
The personal account, cart, checkout with Click or Payme, internal search and core service folders should stay out of the index. On ready-made templates they are often open.
Also look for demo products, test news and placeholder “About us” pages with filler text. They dilute the site in the eyes of search engines. Check as well for a copy of your site on the developer’s test domain: search for a unique phrase from your homepage. If a copy is found, protect it with a password.
Meta tags, sitemap and speed
The SEO tab of an infoblock holds templates for title, description and H1. They pull in the name, section and properties, so thousands of product cards are covered without manual work. Write tags by hand for priority categories and service pages.
The SEO module can generate the sitemap. Make sure inactive and blocked elements are excluded, that it refreshes on a schedule, and that it is submitted to both webmaster tools.
Bitrix is a heavy platform, and slow pages usually come from heavy templates and uncached components. Turn on component caching, check composite mode and compress images. For a buyer on a patchy mobile connection outside the capital, the difference is easy to feel.
A practical order of work for Bitrix SEO
The priority is indexing and duplicates first, then meta tags and structure, then speed and content. In practice:
- export indexed pages and compare them with the real site structure
- set up robots.txt and canonical tags for duplicates
- unify URL formats and add redirects
- fill in meta tag templates in infoblocks
- configure the sitemap and submit it to Search Console and Webmaster
- measure the speed of key page templates
Who makes the changes
On Bitrix, an SEO specialist almost always needs a developer: component templates, URL rules and cache are changed in code. Agree in advance where the staging copy lives, who edits what, and how changes reach the live site. Editing the live site directly without a backup is a common cause of sudden ranking drops.

FAQ
Where should Bitrix SEO start?
With an index audit. Compare the number of pages in Search Console and Yandex Webmaster with your real site structure to see whether duplicates or blocked sections exist.
Why does Bitrix create so many duplicate pages?
Sorting and pagination parameters, smart filters, index.php URLs and products linked to several sections are the usual causes. Fix them with canonical tags, robots.txt rules or redirects.
Do I need a developer for Bitrix SEO?
Almost always. Templates, URL rules and caching live in code, so test changes on a staging copy and move them to the live site with a backup in place.
Can I fill in meta tags for the whole catalog at once?
Yes, through templates on the infoblock SEO tab, which insert the name, section and properties. Still write tags manually for your main categories and services.
