What a good lead looks like for a dealership
A car is one of the biggest purchases most families make, so the decision takes weeks or even months. Buyers watch reviews, compare trims, ask friends and message several showrooms at once. A lead is therefore a chance to turn that person into a visitor and then a driver, not just a contact.
Enquiries are not equal, and treating them the same way costs sales:
Each type needs its own form on the website and its own call script. If everything lands in one shared list, the manager cannot tell who is on the line or what they actually need.
- Test drive booking: the warmest signal, the person is ready to come in
- Price or trim request: real interest, but still comparing
- Loan or instalment calculation: a money question, often serious intent
- Trade-in valuation of the current car
- Availability question about a specific colour or trim
Where dealership enquiries come from
Several entry points work together, and none of them replaces the others.
One rule applies to every channel: keep it current. A sold car still listed, or a price on the site that no longer exists, damages trust more than having no advertising at all.
- A website with a separate page for every model: trims, photos, showroom video, stock status, and buttons to book a test drive or request a calculation
- Instagram and Google ads that lead to a specific model page or booking form, not the home page
- Listings on OLX and car marketplaces, especially for used vehicles
- A Telegram channel and bot for new arrivals, offers and quick booking
- Video reviews recorded by your own sales consultants
- Corporate buyers, taxi fleets, banks and leasing companies
Make the test drive easy to book
Someone who has driven the car is far closer to buying than someone who asked for a price list. So the booking should be simple: pick a convenient time without a long questionnaire, get a confirmation by Telegram or SMS, and receive a reminder before the visit.
Think about when people can actually come: evenings and weekends. Most important, the exact trim they chose must be ready when they arrive. If the buyer shows up and the car is not there, you rarely get a second chance.
Trade-in, service customers and events
Many buyers have one question before anything else: what happens to my old car? An offer to value it gives you a contact before the person has even chosen a new model. The valuation has to be clear and fair, otherwise the owner will simply sell the car privately.
An overlooked source is your own service department. Those customers already know the showroom and will eventually think about replacing their car. Inviting them to a launch or a test drive while their car is being serviced often costs far less than paid advertising.
Model launches and open days also generate leads: a registration for the event is an enquiry in its own right.
Speed of response and lead qualification
Buyers usually contact several dealers, and the one that replies first with a useful answer gains the advantage. Saying “come and see us” is not enough. Answer the actual question and propose a specific time for a test drive. Enquiries that arrive in the evening or at night should get an automatic confirmation and a call at the start of the next working day.
During the call, find out:
A buyer who says “in a couple of months” is not lost. Send occasional, genuinely useful messages: new arrivals, test drive days, trade-in conditions.
- Which model and trim they want
- When they plan to buy
- How they will pay: cash, loan or trade-in
- Which other cars they are considering
Measure visits and sales, not enquiries
The number of enquiries says very little. Track the whole path: enquiry, call, booking, visit, test drive, contract. Also watch how many people book but do not show up, and how long the first reply takes. For that, every enquiry must enter your CRM with its source and outcome.
Then it becomes clear that a channel with fewer enquiries but more visits beats a cheap channel that produces nothing. The usual mistakes repeat everywhere: outdated stock, complicated booking, slow callbacks, silence after the test drive and a forgotten service base.
Where to start
Begin by mapping the buyer’s journey and finding the stage where enquiries disappear today. The markdev team helps dealerships build a marketing strategy: choosing channels, setting up end-to-end analytics and connecting advertising to real showroom visits.

FAQ
Which enquiry is the most valuable for a car dealership?
A test drive booking. Someone ready to come in and drive is closer to buying than someone who only asked for a price. Loan calculations and trade-in valuations often signal serious intent too.
Where can dealerships find car buyers online in Uzbekistan?
On their own website with model pages, in Instagram and Google ads, on OLX and car marketplaces, and in a Telegram channel. Service customers and corporate buyers deserve separate attention.
How fast should we call back after an enquiry?
As soon as possible during working hours, because buyers contact several showrooms and the first useful reply wins. For night-time enquiries, set up an automatic reply and a first call in the morning.
How do we know lead generation is working?
Look at visits, test drives and signed contracts by source, not at the raw number of enquiries. To do that, record each enquiry in a CRM with its source and result.
