Customer Reviews in Uzbekistan: How to Collect and Reply

Customer reviews are often the first thing a person sees when searching for a dentist, a car service or a café near their home in Tashkent. A star rating and two or three recent comments can decide whether they call you or walk to the competitor down the street. This article covers how to collect reviews steadily, how to answer them, and where not to waste effort.

Why customer reviews shape the choice

When someone does not know a company personally, they look for a substitute for a friend's recommendation. That substitute is the rating on the map, the number of reviews and the latest comments. For a local business such as a salon, clinic, training centre or tyre shop, this is frequently the first contact, well before the customer opens your Instagram or website.

Reviews matter in other ways too. They affect how visible your listing is in local search, and AI assistants draw on what people say about a company in public. They are also honest feedback that you would otherwise have to pay research for.

Where reviews matter for your business

Do not try to cover every platform at once. Ask a few customers how they found you and where they checked your reputation. Then the logic is simple:

  • Google Maps, Yandex Maps and 2GIS suit businesses with a physical address: cafés, clinics, car services, studios.
  • Marketplaces such as Uzum suit products, since the review sits on the product and seller page.
  • Industry directories and classifieds like OLX suit services and individual sellers.
  • Instagram and a Telegram channel do not replace maps, but they are a good place to show reviews.

How to get more customer reviews

The main rule is that the request should cost the customer a few seconds. One link, one step. If people have to find your company on the map themselves, most will postpone it and forget.

The best moment is when they are happy: they have just picked up the repaired car, seen the result of a treatment or unpacked an order.

  • Make a QR code that opens the review form directly and place it at the counter, on the receipt or on the packaging.
  • After a payment through Click or Payme, send a Telegram message with a direct link. A bot can do this automatically.
  • Teach administrators and sales staff to make the request in one sentence when handing over an order.
  • Ask satisfied customers. Listen to unhappy ones in person first and try to fix the problem.

How to reply to positive and negative reviews

Answer praise briefly and personally: the name, a detail from the review, a thank you. A line like "Thank you, Dilnoza, we are glad you did not have to wait" shows that a real person reads the reviews. The same template under every comment looks like an answering machine.

Criticism is harder, and this is where trust is won. A workable order of steps:

  • Reply quickly and calmly, without excuses or arguments.
  • Acknowledge the problem and apologise if the company made a mistake.
  • Offer a concrete solution and move the details to a private channel such as phone or Telegram.
  • Once it is resolved, leave a short closing comment.

What not to do with reviews

Do not buy reviews and do not write them yourself. Platforms are able to spot sudden spikes of activity and repetitive wording, and the result can be a lower rating or a blocked profile. Customers also notice identical glowing paragraphs from supposedly different people.

If competitors post invented criticism about you, do not answer in kind. File a complaint with the platform and reply calmly on the substance. Readers will see where you stand.

Using customer reviews to improve and to sell

Once a month, list the themes: long waiting, rude reception, delivery delays, disputed prices. A complaint that keeps repeating is a symptom that replies cannot cure. It has to be fixed in the service or product and passed to management.

Use your best reviews in marketing: quotes on your website, in posts and in stories, with the source named and, where possible, the author's consent. Other people's words work as social proof and persuade better than a company's own promises.

Consistency and where to start

Check the platforms several times a week. A complaint left unanswered for weeks harms your reputation more than the complaint itself. Name one person responsible, agree on a response time and choose one or two platforms to bring into order: current contacts, opening hours, photos and replies to every review.

If it is unclear how reviews connect to advertising, your website and sales, that is a strategy question. FAQ

Which review platform should I start with?

The one where people actually look for you. For a business with an address that is usually a map service, for products a marketplace, for services an industry directory or classifieds site. Ask customers how they found you and begin with one or two platforms.

Can I offer a discount or gift for a review?

It is better not to. Many platforms prohibit rewards for reviews, and the ratings stop being honest. Make the request easy instead, with a direct link or a QR code.

Do I have to reply to negative reviews?

Yes, and as soon as possible. Future customers read your reply. Acknowledging the problem, offering a solution and moving details to a private conversation builds trust.

How often should I check for new reviews?

Several times a week. Complaints that stay unanswered for weeks hurt your reputation more than the complaints themselves.
