What “Facebook ads” really means here
Ads on Facebook and Instagram are managed from one place: Meta Ads Manager. When a business owner in Tashkent asks for Facebook ads, they usually want enquiries from Instagram, because that is where local shoppers browse stores, clinics and beauty salons.
So the first question is where your customer will take action: a website, Instagram Direct, a Telegram bot or a phone call. That choice shapes the campaign objective and how you count results.
What to prepare before launch
Many launches fail before the first impression: no access to the Facebook page, Instagram not connected, no plan for paying the ad account. Go through this checklist first.
- A goal in money terms: how much an enquiry can cost while the sale still makes sense, given your average order and margin.
- A clear offer: what the person gets, the price in soums and the next step.
- A destination for the click: website, Direct, Telegram bot or an in-app form.
- A Meta business account with the Facebook page and Instagram profile connected.
- A working payment method for the ad account, checked well before launch day.
- Lead tracking: a CRM or at least a spreadsheet showing where each customer came from.
Account setup and measurement
The Meta pixel and website events tell the algorithm who left a request or bought something. If you send traffic to a Telegram bot or a chat, plan how to record each enquiry and tag its source, for example with UTM tags and a separate link for every campaign.
Without this you will see clicks and reach but cannot tell whether the ads pay off. Look first at the cost of the target action and at what happens to those leads after your sales team talks to them.
Objective, audience and location
Choose the objective by the real action you want. For an online shop that is a purchase or add-to-cart; for services, a form submission or a message. Picking “reach” for the sake of pretty numbers rarely brings customers.
Audiences are simpler than they look. For a local business, a city or district with broad targeting is often enough, since the algorithm finds interested people on its own. Splitting a small budget across a dozen narrow audiences is a common mistake: none of them gets enough data. If you also serve other regions, run them as a separate campaign, because click costs and behaviour differ from Tashkent.
Creatives and copy in two languages
Audiences in Uzbekistan read both Russian and Uzbek, so test both versions. Show the real product, the process, the result and customer feedback. If price is your advantage, state it or at least its range, and say right away how to order and whether payment by Click or Payme is possible.
Change one element at a time: a different headline, video or opening line. If you change everything at once, you cannot learn anything from the result.
The first weeks: patience and discipline
At the start the algorithm is learning and numbers swing. Editing budgets, audiences and ads every day keeps resetting that process. Let the campaign collect data, then switch off weak ads and put more behind strong ones.
Also watch how fast you reply to leads. An ad can bring someone in at a sensible cost, but if they hear back the next day they have already messaged a competitor.
Common mistakes and where to start
Most wasted budget comes from a handful of repeated causes, and nearly all of them are visible at the preparation stage.

- Launching without a pixel or lead tracking.
- Using “reach” or “traffic” instead of a real action.
- Too many narrow audiences on a small budget.
- A single ad with nothing to compare against.
- A link to a page that loads poorly on mobile.
- Slow replies to incoming leads.
FAQ
Is Facebook advertising different from Instagram advertising?
Technically it is one tool. You set up ads in Meta Ads Manager and they can appear on Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. You pick placements and formats rather than a separate service.
Can I run ads without a website?
Yes. An ad can lead to Direct, a Telegram bot or a lead form. Just plan beforehand how you will record enquiries and see where each customer came from.
How much money do I need to start?
There is no single figure. It depends on your niche, region, competition and product price. Plan around the enquiry cost you can afford and the volume the algorithm needs to gather data.
When can I judge the results?
Once the campaign has gathered enough data and you can see not only clicks but the number and quality of leads. Judging by the first days is risky because early numbers are unstable.
