What Google Ads Editor does
It is a separate application for Windows and macOS. You download your account data, edit campaigns, ad groups, keywords, ad copy and assets such as sitelinks or phone numbers, review the changes, and only then post them to the live account. Until you post, nothing changes in your running ads, so a mistake can be fixed without touching your budget.
It does not replace the web interface. Reports, diagnostics, recommendations and some newer features are easier to use in the browser. Think of the Editor as a workbench for building structure and making large edits, not a daily analytics tool.
When a business in Uzbekistan needs it
A single campaign with a handful of keywords is fine in the regular interface. The Editor starts saving hours once an account grows. Typical cases:
The last case shows the difference: in the browser you would open every ad one by one, while the Editor lets you search and replace across the whole account in minutes.
- An electronics or clothing store with hundreds of products, where each category needs its own ad group and copy.
- A clinic, training centre or salon with dozens of services and branches in different districts of Tashkent.
- A developer or real-estate agency running a separate campaign for each residential complex.
- A business advertising in both Russian and Uzbek, which means two sets of copy built on one structure.
- A company that changed its phone number, address or Telegram link, which appears in hundreds of ads.
Key features in daily work
These are the functions people use most in practice:
- bulk find-and-replace in headlines, descriptions and URLs;
- copying and pasting campaigns, ad groups and ads, including between accounts;
- import and export through spreadsheets, so keywords and copy can be prepared in Excel or Google Sheets;
- working with several accounts in one window;
- offline editing and a full review of changes before anything is sent;
- error checks that warn you about problems such as an overlong headline;
- undoing changes before you post.
How to get started safely
Download the app from Google’s official site, sign in with the account you use for Google Ads, and pick the ad accounts you need. Access granted through an agency manager account works too. Then download the campaign data; with a large account this takes a while.
Before any serious edit, save a copy of the account to a file so you have something to go back to. If several people work in the account, start each session with a fresh download, otherwise your changes may clash with what a colleague already edited in the browser.
Before posting, read the full list of changes. Afterwards, check that the ads passed review and are actually serving.
Common mistakes with bulk edits
The Editor speeds up good work, and it multiplies mistakes just as fast. That is why campaign structure and analytics matter more than the tool itself.
- Replacing text across the whole account without checking length and meaning, so a headline gets cut or loses its point.
- Forgetting negative keywords: when a campaign is copied for a new city, queries start overlapping.
- Sending ads to pages that no longer exist, or to a site that loads slowly on a phone. In Tashkent and in the regions, most traffic comes from mobile.
- Not tracking leads: calls, forms, Telegram clicks, payments through Click or Payme. You end up scaling something nobody knows works.
- Mixing Tashkent and the regions in one campaign, even though competition and manager response speed differ.
When to bring in a specialist
You can learn the Editor on your own, since the interface feels like a spreadsheet. The harder part is deciding how to split campaigns, which keywords to bid on, how to define a lead and how much budget each city deserves. The software will not make those calls for you.
If you want help, the markdev team sets up Google Ads for businesses in Uzbekistan: we build the structure, connect analytics and show what a lead costs. Describe your task and we will tell you whether working through the Editor makes sense or the regular interface is enough.
FAQ
Is Google Ads Editor free?
Yes, the app itself costs nothing. You only pay for the ads that run in your account.
Can I use Google Ads Editor on my phone?
No. It is a desktop program for Windows and macOS. There is a Google Ads mobile app, but it is not convenient for bulk changes.
Do my changes go live immediately?
No. Edits stay in the app until you post them to the account. After posting, ads go through the usual review.
Does a small business need the Editor?
If you run one or two small campaigns, the web interface is enough. The Editor pays off when you have dozens of ad groups, several languages or multiple branches.
