Why electronics is a different category
People often buy clothes on impulse, but a smartphone or a robot vacuum is a calculated purchase. A buyer in Tashkent or Samarkand is spending a meaningful amount of som, so they check everything: model, memory, what is in the box, warranty and the seller. At the same time they have Uzum, OLX and a few Telegram electronics channels open in other tabs.
For you, that means three main risks: counterfeit or grey-market goods, defects and incompatibility, and damage in delivery. Each one hurts your rating, and on a marketplace the rating feeds directly into visibility. Trust is therefore not a nice extra here; it is part of how sales work.
The listing: specifications and compatibility
Buyers filter the catalogue by parameters such as memory size, screen diagonal, power or connector type. If a field is empty, your product simply does not show up for that filter. A wrong value is even worse than a blank one, because it turns into a return and a bad review.
Treat compatibility as its own block. Chargers, cables, cases, earphones and memory cards are bought for a specific device. The question “will it fit my phone?” is among the most common, and an answer in the description reduces returns. List the models and standards the product works with, and say plainly what it does not work with.
Photos are information too. Manufacturer renders look polished but do not prove that you have the item. Add pictures of the real box, its contents and, where appropriate, the serial number.
- Exact model name and manufacturer part number, no abbreviations
- Technical parameters with units of measurement
- Colour and version if the model has variants
- What is in the box, including whether a charger and cable are included
- Dimensions, weight, power requirements and connector types
- Country of manufacture
Warranty and proof of authenticity
For an expensive item the warranty is one of the main selling points. State clearly who provides it: the manufacturer, an official distributor or you. Give the term, where to go for service and what the buyer must keep, such as the receipt, the box and the warranty card. If there is no official manufacturer warranty in Uzbekistan, do not hide it. An honest seller warranty sells better than a vague promise that fails later.
Shoppers fear fakes and grey imports for good reason. Work with suppliers who can confirm where the goods came from, keep your paperwork, and find out in advance which certificates the platform requires for your category. Without them a listing may fail moderation or be taken down. Selling counterfeits breaks the law and platform rules and leads to account blocking.
Packaging, delivery and returns
Electronics hate impacts and moisture. Keep the original factory box and add outer protection for transport, especially for parcels going to the regions. A dented box makes buyers suspect the device was already used, even when it was not. If you ship from your own warehouse, test the item before dispatch.
Returns in this category come from defects, incompatibility, mismatched expectations and transit damage. The middle two are partly fixed by better listings and packaging; the rest depends on your quality control. Track returns by model. If one model keeps coming back faulty, talking to the supplier or dropping the model costs less than a falling rating.
Questions and reviews as part of the description
Electronics listings attract many questions: which language the menu is in, which charger fits, what comes in the set. Reply quickly and with technical accuracy. Other shoppers read your answers, so they work as an extension of the description. A repeated question is a signal to update the listing, and over time the page answers more by itself, so the next buyer decides without writing to you.
Handle negative reviews calmly by offering a replacement or pointing the buyer to a service centre. Everyone sees that reaction, and it often persuades more than a handful of thank-you comments.
Range, pricing and strategy
A good listing is not enough if you have not decided what to sell and how. Electronics prices are compared in seconds, and fighting over every thousand som quickly eats the margin. You need to know which models drive turnover, which bring profit, and which exist to pull in accessories and add-on sales. The calculation should include the platform commission, delivery, warranty costs and the exchange rate if you buy in foreign currency. Part of demand can be handled through Instagram and Telegram with payment by Click or Payme, while the marketplace serves as a showcase that builds trust.

FAQ
What matters more for electronics sales: price or the listing?
Price gets attention, but the decision is made on the listing and on trust. Complete specs, a clear warranty and quick answers often outweigh a small price difference.
Should I always state compatibility?
For accessories and components, yes. It is one of the most frequent buyer questions, and an answer in the description cuts returns.
What if the product has no official manufacturer warranty?
Say so openly and describe your own warranty: term, conditions and where to go. Hidden or vague information damages trust more than the missing warranty itself.
How can I reduce returns for defects?
Test items before shipping, keep factory packaging and analyse returns by model. If one model keeps coming back, discuss it with the supplier.
