Telegram Ad Creative: What Works in Channels and Telegram Ads

Good Telegram ad creative is mostly good writing. People open a channel on purpose and read its posts one after another, so your ad is judged like any other post: by its first line. This guide covers how to prepare creative for the two main formats, what to put in the image, and how to tell which version actually brings leads in Uzbekistan.

Telegram ad creative: two formats and how it differs from Instagram

Businesses usually advertise on Telegram in two ways. The first is a post published by a channel admin, which has room for an image, longer copy and a link. The second is a sponsored message in Telegram Ads: a short text with a button shown beneath channel posts. A single text rarely works in both. It feels dry as a post and too long as an ad, so plan separate versions from the start.

On Instagram, the visual stops the scroll. On Telegram, the reader has chosen a channel and is reading its posts in sequence, so the opening line carries the decision. If it gives no reason to continue, even a strong offer further down goes unread. That is why this work is closer to copywriting than design: the image supports the message, it does not carry it.

Structuring a channel post

A reliable post has four parts. Take a flower delivery studio in Tashkent: instead of “We offer beautiful bouquets”, open with “Forgot an anniversary and the shops are already closed?” The reader recognises the situation.

  • First line: a situation or problem the channel’s readers know, not your company name or a greeting.
  • Two or three sentences on how the product solves it: what is included, who it is for, how to get it.
  • One proof point: a photo of the result, a client review shared with permission, a short look at the process.
  • One call to action and one link: a bot, a channel, a website or a manager’s contact.

Match the channel’s tone and language

Every channel has its own voice: restrained in a business channel, looser in a city entertainment one. Before booking, read the last ten posts and show your draft to the admin, who knows what their audience responds to.

Write in the channel’s language and script. In Uzbekistan that often means separate Uzbek and Russian texts, each written natively. A literal translation “just in case” reads as foreign and gets skipped.

Telegram Ads messages, images and video

There is almost no space in a Telegram Ads message, so there is no room for a story. Use one idea plus one action: who you are or what you offer, one clear benefit, and what happens after the tap. For example: “The bot shows free slots at a dental clinic in Chilanzar and books your visit.” Generic praise such as “best in Uzbekistan”, all caps and exclamation marks tend to annoy moderators, and readers do not believe them anyway.

In a post, the image works like a cover. It should back up the first line, not repeat a logo. Product photos in real use, a frame from the process or a screenshot of your bot all work well. Avoid long text over the picture: it is unreadable on a small screen and makes the post look like a banner.

Use video only when the product needs to be seen in action, and keep it short and clear without sound.

Where the link leads and how to measure

The link must continue the promise of the text. If the post offers a free consultation, send people to a place where they can pick a time, not to a homepage. A Telegram bot often fits well here: it asks two or three questions, books the client and can take payment through Click or Payme.

Give every placement and every text variant its own link: a start parameter for the bot, UTM tags for the website. Then you can see which channel produced only views and which produced leads. Judge a variant across several placements, not one post.

Common mistakes

Check your draft against this list before launch:

  • The post opens with a company name or a greeting.
  • One text tries to sell every service with several links.
  • The copy is a literal translation and sounds unnatural.
  • There is no clear next step.
  • The same link is used in every channel, so results cannot be separated.
  • The first line makes no sense without the rest of the text.

Next step

If you need a bot that receives leads from your ads, books clients and shows where each one came from, the markdev team can build and set it up. Tell us about your task and we will go through the creative and the path from post to request together.

FAQ

How is a Telegram Ads message different from a channel post?

A Telegram Ads message is very short: one idea, one benefit and a button. A channel post has room for an image, a few paragraphs and proof, but must match the channel’s style.

What matters more on Telegram, the image or the text?

The text, and especially its first line. The image makes the post noticeable, but the opening situation or benefit is what keeps people reading.

Which language should I use for ads in Uzbekistan?

The language and script of the channel itself. An Uzbek channel needs copy written in Uzbek, not a word-for-word translation of the Russian version.

How do I know which creative worked?

Give each placement and text variant a separate link: UTM tags for a website, a start parameter for a bot. Compare leads, not just clicks.
