What people really want from Tilda website design
Behind a search like this sit three different jobs. Some owners want a ready template with their own text dropped in. Others look for a designer to build a unique site inside the builder. A third group already has a Figma layout and wants to know whether it can move into Tilda without losing quality. Which group you belong to shapes the timeline, the budget and the outcome.
Tilda is a tool, not a finished solution. Good design on it starts with a question rather than a block choice: what should a visitor do on this page? Leave a request, message you on Telegram, place an order or call. Everything else on the page should serve that one action.
Template or custom design
A template works for a simple business card site or a single-offer page, especially while you are still testing demand. It is fast and inexpensive, but the result looks like many other sites: the same blocks, the same tricks. For a small beauty studio in Tashkent that may be fine. For a company that competes on reputation and brand, it feels thin.
Custom design costs more because the price covers structure planning, a prototype, font and image selection, mobile adaptation and pre-launch checks. The final figure depends on the number of pages, the amount of copy, whether you need a photo shoot and which integrations are required. Ask for an estimate broken down by stage rather than one lump sum, so you can see what you are paying for.
What to adapt for a local audience
Most visitors in Uzbekistan open sites on a phone, often straight from Instagram or Telegram. Review every layout on a smartphone first and on a laptop second.
- Fonts. Confirm that your chosen typeface renders Cyrillic and Uzbek Latin correctly, including o‘ and g‘. Sometimes these characters fall back to a default font and the text looks sloppy.
- Languages. If you need Russian and Uzbek versions, plan for them from the start. Uzbek copy is often longer, and headlines or buttons can break.
- Contact. Put the Telegram button and phone number on the first screen. Many customers would rather message than call.
- Payments. If you want to accept Click or Payme, find out well before launch how that connects on your plan and through which services.
- Page weight. Heavy photos load slowly on weak mobile internet outside the capital, so compress images before uploading.
- Trust. Real photos of your team and work, an address, reviews and company details persuade better than any slogan.
Zero Block: freedom with a price
Zero Block lets you place elements anywhere and build non-standard layouts. It is Tilda's biggest draw for designers. The catch is that on mobile you have to tune such blocks for each screen width separately, and mistakes show immediately. If the whole site is built from Zero Blocks, edits get expensive and pages load more slowly.
A sensible approach is to use ready-made blocks wherever a standard structure is enough and keep Zero Block for the first screen and a couple of accent sections. The site is then easier to maintain, and you can update copy and prices without calling the designer.
Design you can measure
A beautiful page proves nothing until you know how many visitors reached a request. Before launch, connect your counters: Meta Pixel if you run Instagram ads, Google Analytics, and goals for form submissions and Telegram clicks. Afterwards you can compare versions of the first screen, headline and button using numbers instead of arguing about taste.
If your traffic comes from ads, a separate landing page for each offer usually beats a single all-purpose site. A visitor arrives for a specific product or service and should not have to hunt for it in a menu.
When Tilda is not the right fit
For an online store with a large catalogue, customer accounts, complex delivery logic and an accounting integration, a builder quickly becomes cramped. In that case it is cheaper to plan another platform or custom development from day one.
Two more questions are worth settling early: how you will pay for the plan, and whose account the site will live in. Projects often stay in the contractor's account, and the owner loses control of their own website. Insist on access handover and the ability to export.
Where to start
Define the purpose of the page, gather your copy and photos, look at two or three competitor sites, and only then move to the layout. That way the designer works from facts instead of guesses.
At markdev we build websites end to end, on Tilda and on other platforms, choosing the tool to fit the task rather than the other way round. If you would like to talk through your project, leave a request and we will tell you whether a builder is enough and what the budget will consist of.
FAQ
Can I build a Russian and Uzbek site on Tilda?
Yes, a multilingual structure is possible. Plan it from the beginning, check your fonts for o‘ and g‘, and leave room for longer Uzbek text.
Is a Tilda template or custom design better for a business?
A template suits demand testing and simple pages. Custom design pays off when the site is part of your brand or your main sales channel and you need to stand out from competitors.
Do I need analytics on a Tilda site?
Yes. Without Meta Pixel, Google Analytics and goals for requests you cannot tell whether the site pays off, and you cannot improve the page using data.
When is Tilda not a good choice?
For a large online store with a complex catalogue, customer accounts and an accounting integration, another platform or custom development is usually a better fit.
