Why one word covers very different projects
A one-page landing site for a coffee shop and an online store with a catalogue, Click and Payme checkout and customer accounts are both called websites. In design, planning and programming work they are different projects. That is why a question like "how much is a website?" has no precise answer until the task is described, and a figure given over the phone is only a rough guide.
Asking for a site "like the competitor's" does not fix this. From the outside you cannot see which integrations run behind the pages, how much content was prepared or how the admin panel works. Two sites that look alike in a screenshot can differ a lot in effort.
What drives website development cost in Uzbekistan
A quote is built from several factors. The more unique solutions a project needs, the more hours go to the designer, the developer and the project manager.
- Site type: landing page, multi-page company site, online store or web application. Each step up adds screens and logic.
- Design: custom layouts built around your content cost more than adapting a ready template, but fit the task better.
- Integrations: CRM, payments through Click and Payme, Telegram notifications, lead forms, analytics. Every service has to be connected and tested.
- Languages: a Russian and Uzbek version with a switcher is harder than a single-language site, because text length differs and the interface must work in both.
- Content volume: how many texts, photos and videos must be prepared and placed.
- Deadline: a compressed schedule ties up the team more heavily, and that shows in the price.
Costs that are often billed separately
When comparing offers, ask what exactly the amount covers. A domain and hosting are usually paid apart from development. So are licences for third-party tools such as a CRM, payment modules or paid plugins. Promotion after launch, whether Instagram and Google Ads targeting or SEO, is a separate service rather than part of development by default.
Agree on the contract currency too: in Uzbekistan development work can be settled in sums or in dollars. Fix the payment schedule at the same time, whether in stages or in one payment.
When a cheap site becomes expensive
The lowest-priced route is a ready template with no adaptation. It looks fine, but its structure often fails to answer customer questions: how to order, how delivery to other regions works, where to see past work. A few months later the owner notices there are no enquiries and orders a new site.
The second trap is skimping on the brief. Without a clear goal, the designer and developer work from guesses, and changes to a finished project cost more than careful planning at the start. A website builder is fine for a simple business card page or to test an idea, but it hits limits once you need non-standard integrations.
How to get an honest quote
A good quote starts with a brief. The contractor records the list of pages, features and integrations and names a price for exactly that scope, which protects you from extra charges for things nobody discussed. Come to the conversation with:
- the goal of the site: leads, sales, bookings or a brand showcase;
- examples of sites you like and what exactly you like in them;
- a list of pages and sections you already know you need;
- the services to connect: CRM, Click, Payme, a Telegram bot;
- the site languages and how ready your texts and photos are;
- your desired timeline and budget in sums or dollars.
How to tell whether the site pays off
A website is an investment, so agree on metrics before launch: number of leads, cost per enquiry, share of visitors who become customers. That needs basic analytics. Without it you will not know whether people arrive from Instagram, Google or Telegram, or what they do on the pages.
markdev builds websites turnkey: we plan the structure, handle design and front-end, and connect analytics and integrations. If you want a realistic budget for your task, describe it to us and we will talk through the scope and possible stages.
FAQ
Can I learn the exact price of a website without a brief?
Only approximately. The exact amount is set after the task is analysed: site type, number of pages, required integrations, languages and content volume.
What affects the cost of an online store?
The number of products and categories, customer accounts, Click and Payme payments, links to stock records and the number of languages. The calculation is always individual.
Can I lower the cost by splitting the project into stages?
Yes. Launch a basic version with the main pages and a lead form first, then add the catalogue, accounts and a second language as the business grows.
Is analytics included in the cost of building a site?
Basic tracking of visits and leads is usually built into the project. The exact set of tools is best confirmed during the brief.
