What a Google Ads setup actually includes
Most owners want one thing: someone types a query into Google and sees their ad. Getting there takes a dozen decisions covering the account, conversion goals, campaign structure, keywords, ad copy, the landing page and the budget. They form one system, and a weak link anywhere makes the rest work for nothing.
Uzbekistan adds its own twists. People search in Russian, in Uzbek and in mixed or transliterated forms, and a phone call or a Telegram message often matters more than a website form. Build this in from day one rather than patching it later.
Start with the goal and the tracking
Decide first what counts as a result: a call, a Telegram enquiry, a completed order, a visit to your office. For a clinic that is a booked appointment, for an online shop a purchase, for a construction firm a request for a quote. The goal drives the campaign type and the bidding strategy.
Then set up measurement. If some deals close by phone or in a messenger, work out how to feed that back, even if it means uploading offline conversions by hand or marking lead quality in your CRM. Otherwise Google optimises for empty clicks and you cannot see what brings revenue.
- Google Tag Manager installed on the site
- Google Analytics 4 linked to Google Ads
- Conversions defined: form, call, Telegram click, purchase
- Leads tagged with UTM parameters
- Sales staff record which enquiries were genuine
Choosing campaign types
Search campaigns suit almost any business with existing demand. Someone types “plastic windows Tashkent” or “laptop repair” and you appear at that moment. For most advertisers this is the right place to begin.
Online shops with a product feed in Merchant Center can add Shopping and Performance Max. These spread impressions across Search, YouTube and the Display network automatically, but they need good photos, correct prices and enough conversions to learn from. Display and YouTube are better for awareness and remarketing than as a first campaign built from scratch.
Keywords, negatives and location
Group queries by intent: buy, price, near me, reviews, competitor names. Each group deserves its own ads and its own landing page. Include Russian and Latin-script Uzbek variants, guided by Google’s suggestions and by the way your customers actually phrase things.
Build a negative keyword list straight away: free, DIY, download, jobs and anything else that attracts people with no intent to buy. Target only the areas you can serve, whether Tashkent, a region or specific cities, and check the “interest in location” option, which can bring irrelevant impressions.
The landing page decides half the outcome
Even a flawless setup cannot rescue a site that loads slowly on mobile data or hides its contact form. A large share of visitors arrive on smartphones, so check speed, readability, a visible call button and a Telegram link. The page must answer the query in the ad: if someone searched for a specific service, send them to that service page, not the homepage.
What your budget is made of
Click prices come from an auction shaped by competition on the query, ad and page quality, location, time of day and season. That is why the same budget produces different results in different niches, and no single figure fits everyone. What you can do is plan a test period long enough to collect data and agree in advance what cost per lead makes the campaign worthwhile.
Also count the specialist’s time, the website or landing pages, analytics and ongoing management. Confirm how the advertising account will be paid for before launch, so ads do not stop because of a payment problem.
The first weeks after launch
The first days are a learning period, so avoid changing bids and goals every few hours. Do review the search terms report regularly, add negatives, pause weak ads and compare lead quality with your sales team. After a few weeks there is enough data to shift budget towards what actually brings customers.

FAQ
How long does a Google Ads setup take?
It depends on your niche, the number of keywords and how ready your website and tracking are. Often the slowest part is not the account itself but preparing the landing page and lead tracking.
Can I set up Google Ads myself?
Yes, a simple Search campaign is within reach. But mistakes in goals, location and negative keywords drain budget quickly, so many owners have a specialist launch it and then manage it themselves.
Which campaign should I start with?
If there is clear demand for your product or service, start with Search. Add Performance Max or Display once you have conversion data and quality creative.
