Sales ads versus brand ads
Brand advertising answers the question "do people know us?" Sales advertising answers a different one: did someone message, leave a request, or buy? That is why it needs a single target action rather than a mix of likes, follows and site visits.
Take a clothing store in Tashkent that wants orders. The right goal is a Direct message asking about size or availability, not a reach of hundreds of thousands. For a clinic it is a consultation booking; for a food delivery service it is an order through a Telegram bot. The more specific the action, the easier it is to set up the ad and check the result.
Instagram ads in Uzbekistan: what to decide before launch
Weak campaigns usually fail during preparation, not in the settings. Answer four questions before spending anything.
The offer matters more than a pretty image. "Big discounts" is not an offer until people know what they apply to and when they end.
- What counts as a result: a message, a request, a call, or a bot order.
- Who sees the ad: not "everyone aged 18 to 65" but a specific group, such as mothers looking for kids' clothing or cafe owners.
- What you offer: a clear benefit with a condition, like a trial lesson, a free measurement, or same-day delivery.
- Why people should trust you: reviews, work samples, guarantees.
Creative and copy: what stops the scroll
In the feed and Stories you have a fraction of a second. The first frame of a video or the first line of text should show who the ad is for and what they get. Real video with the product in hand, before-and-after examples and a short customer review usually beat stock photos.
Write in the language your audience actually uses. Many people in Tashkent read both Russian and Uzbek, while in the regions Uzbek is often closer, so test both versions instead of guessing. State the price, terms and how to reach you plainly: payment by Click or Payme, delivery across the city, the address.
Change one element at a time: first frames, then copy, then offers. If you change everything at once, you will not know what worked.
Where the ad leads: Direct, a website or Telegram
For services and products that need a conversation, chat in Direct or Telegram works well: the person asks, you answer. For a catalog with online payment, a website or bot fits better. The choice depends on how your customers are used to buying.
Your profile is part of the ad. If a click leads to an empty bio, outdated Stories and no reviews, trust disappears. Fix the description, pinned posts and quick replies before you switch the budget on.
Speed matters too: a lead answered hours later has usually gone cold. Decide in advance who replies and when.
How to tell whether the ads pay off
Count the chain, not the clicks: how many requests came in, how many reached payment, what one sale costs, and what it brought in. That requires recording every request somewhere, whether a CRM, a spreadsheet, or at least a list that notes the source.
If customers come in person or call, ask "how did you hear about us?" and write down the answer. Connect counters and events on your website or bot so the ad account can see which ads lead to actions. Without that, you are optimizing blind.
Do not judge by the first days. The platform needs time to learn, and you need enough data to compare.
Common mistakes
Most wasted budgets come from the same short list.
- Launching without tracking requests and their sources.
- Pressing "Boost" instead of setting the goal and audience in the ad account.
- Rewriting the whole campaign every day.
- Expecting strong results from a weak offer.
- Sending traffic to an unfinished profile.
- Replying to customers too slowly.
How markdev approaches it
At markdev we manage Instagram for businesses in Uzbekistan: we agree on metrics before launch, set up request tracking and report with numbers rather than impressions. We do not promise things like "leads in three days", because results depend on the product, the price and demand.
If you want to go through your situation and decide where to start with sales ads, leave a request and we will discuss the task and budget with no obligation.
FAQ
How much do Instagram ads cost in Uzbekistan?
The cost has three parts: the ad budget itself, which is charged through an auction and depends on your niche and competition; the specialist's work on setup and analytics; and the production of creatives. An honest figure is only possible after reviewing your task.
Is the Boost button in the app enough?
It works, but with fewer options: goals, placements and analytics are limited. For sales, setting up campaigns in the Meta ad account is more reliable.
How soon will leads appear?
The first messages can arrive quickly, but a stable cost per lead only shows after you test offers and creatives. Any exact timeline promised upfront would be invented.
