Instagram Ads in Uzbekistan: How to Run Targeted Campaigns

Instagram ads in Uzbekistan are paid placements in the feed, Stories and Reels, built and managed through Meta Ads. For a business in Tashkent or the regions, they are one of the few channels that let you put an offer in front of people by location, interests and behaviour. They pay off only when the goal is clear and the result can be measured.

What Instagram ads in Uzbekistan really involve

The ads are not created inside the Instagram app itself but in the Meta Ads account, which is linked to a business page and an Instagram profile. The “Boost post” button is handy for a quick test, yet it offers few settings. It is hard to pick the right objective, exclude people you do not want, or see where the budget actually went.

The account has three levels. A campaign sets the objective: messages, leads, website visits or reach. An ad set defines the audience, placements and budget. The ad itself is the image or video plus the text. The algorithm learns from what people actually do, so a wrong objective is a common way to waste money. A reach campaign will collect plenty of views and almost no enquiries.

Decide what a result means before you spend

Before launching anything, agree on what counts as success. For a clinic it is a booked appointment. For a clothing store it is an order in Telegram or on the website, paid through Click or Payme. For a training centre it is a request for a trial lesson. Reach and likes do not pay the rent on their own.

Agree with whoever runs the campaign on a short list of numbers you will review every week:

Actual values depend on the niche, the season and the competition, which is why an honest specialist will not quote them before the first tests.

  • cost per enquiry: a Direct message, a call or a form;
  • cost per order or booking;
  • share of enquiries that end in a sale;
  • revenue returned for each sum spent on ads;
  • frequency, to see whether the audience is wearing out.

Fix measurement first

The most common mistake is switching ads on when there is nothing to measure them with. If traffic goes to a website, you need the Meta pixel and events such as product view, add to cart and form submission. If people write in Direct or Telegram, use separate links and UTM tags, and add a line to the sales script asking where the customer heard about you.

When the sale closes offline, in a salon, by phone or in a meeting, record it in a CRM or at least a shared sheet and match it to the source. Otherwise you will see cheap leads without knowing whether they turn into revenue.

Audiences, language and creative for local buyers

Location targeting is flexible. You can choose Tashkent, individual districts, a region or several regions, and for delivery or a physical shop it helps to limit the radius around the address. Language matters too: test ads in both Uzbek and Russian, because audiences often respond differently.

In the first weeks it is sensible to test a few hypotheses side by side: narrow interests, a broad audience, and retargeting of people who watched a video, messaged you or visited the site. A broad audience can perform as well as narrow interests when the algorithm has enough conversion data, but you cannot know that in advance.

Specifics win in creative. Use a short Reels video that shows the product or the process, real customer feedback, a clear price or terms, and one call to action. Change one element at a time, whether the headline, the first frame or the offer, otherwise you will not know what made the difference.

Where the click should land

Good ads can fall apart on a weak next step. Decide in advance where a person arrives: Direct, a Telegram bot, a landing page or a catalogue. A restaurant might send people to a menu with a booking button, a shop to a Telegram catalogue with quick checkout, and a beauty salon to a booking form.

Watch reply speed as well. A lead from Instagram goes cold quickly. If a manager answers hours later, the person may already have written to a competitor. Sometimes fixing the response process improves results more than editing the ads.

Questions to ask a freelancer or agency

Tashkent has freelancers, small teams and full-service agencies. The format does not guarantee quality; what matters is how the person handles goals and reporting. Ask a few questions before you start:

A good sign is a specialist who first asks about your product and sales process rather than sending a price list straight away.

  • Are the Meta Ads account and pixel registered to you, not to the contractor?
  • Which numbers will be in the report, and how often?
  • How are enquiries from Direct and Telegram counted?
  • What gets tested if results drop?
  • Are the ad budget and the fee clearly separated?
  • Do they promise a guaranteed number of leads? That is a warning sign.

A sensible first step

Gather the basics: what you sell, to whom, the average order value and how enquiries are handled today. Then set up tracking, run a small test with several hypotheses, and after the first weeks decide where to add budget and what to switch off.

If you would like to talk through your own case, the markdev team can review your accounts and analytics and suggest a Meta Ads launch plan. Leave a request on the site and we will work out where to begin together.

FAQ

How is the Boost button different from Meta Ads?

The in-app button offers a limited set of objectives and settings. The Meta Ads account gives finer control over objective, audience and placements, supports the pixel, and lets you analyse results by ad set.

Do I need a website to advertise on Instagram?

Not necessarily. You can send people to Direct or Telegram. A website or bot with tracked events does make measurement easier and shows which ads lead to sales.

How soon will I see results?

It depends on the niche, offer, competition and budget. The early period goes to teaching the algorithm and testing hypotheses, so judging a campaign after a single day is not reliable.

What budget do I need to start?

There is no universal figure. The budget should be enough to test several hypotheses and collect data on enquiries. It depends on your goal, region and the price of your product.
