Instagram Product Posts: How to Write Ones That Sell

Most Instagram product posts in Uzbekistan look the same: one photo and a caption like “In stock, DM us.” That leaves the buyer to ask about size, material, price and delivery. Here is how to write Instagram product posts that answer those questions up front and lead to an order.

Why “DM us” loses customers

A bare photo pushes all the work onto the shopper. They have to message you, wait for a reply and then decide. Many won’t bother. They will scroll on and buy from a shop where everything is clear at a glance.

A good post answers the common questions in advance. You spend less time repeating the same replies, and the people who do message you are already close to ordering.

What a first-time viewer wants to know

Before publishing, read your post as someone who has never seen the product. If any of these questions has no answer, add it to the caption or as a carousel slide.

  • What is it and what is it for?
  • How is it different from similar products?
  • Will it suit me: size, age, situation?
  • Material, colours and what’s included.
  • How do I get it: delivery in Tashkent and to the regions, pickup, payment by Click, Payme or cash?
  • What happens if it doesn’t fit or work out?

A simple structure for a product caption

You don’t need every block every time, but keeping this order helps the reader follow along.

  • Open with a situation or benefit, not a product code: “A school backpack that carries a full day of books.”
  • Two or three key specs in a short list.
  • Who it’s for and when it comes in handy.
  • Details buyers usually check: fastenings, pockets, care, warranty.
  • How to order: where to write, what to include, how to pay and receive.

Features prove, benefits explain

A feature is a fact: “thick cast-iron base.” A benefit is what changes for the buyer: “plov in the kazan doesn’t burn and cooks evenly.” A feature alone sounds dry. A benefit alone sounds like a promise without proof.

Pair them: lead with the benefit, then give the fact that backs it up. This works for clothing, kids’ goods, home items and gadgets. For accessories, always name the compatible models and what comes in the box.

Photos, video and carousels

Don’t repeat in text what the picture already shows. Use the caption for what a photo can’t carry: how the fabric feels, how to care for it, how it fits. Use visuals to show different angles: a clean shot, the item in use, close-ups of seams or hardware, and a size comparison with a familiar object.

A carousel lets you fit all of this into one post. Keep colours true to life. Heavy editing leads to returns and arguments. In a Telegram channel, use an album of photos and shorter text, with the main point in the first lines, since those show in the message preview.

Price, delivery and objections

Many shoppers won’t write if they can’t see a price. If you choose not to show it, say why, for example: “price depends on size, tell us yours and we’ll reply right away.”

Give delivery and return terms their own line. For a shop the customer hasn’t bought from before, these two points often decide whether they order at all.

Turn one product into a series

Don’t write about a bestseller just once. Post a teaser, then details, then a video of it in use, then a customer review, and only then a direct offer to order. Each post shows the product from a new angle, so followers who missed the first one will catch the next. Publish reviews with the author’s permission and never change their meaning.

FAQ

Should I put the price in a product post?

Usually yes, because shoppers write less often when no price is visible. If you leave it out, explain why, such as the price depending on size or set.

How long should a product caption be?

Long enough to answer the buyer’s main questions. Break it into short paragraphs and lists so it is easy to scan.

Can I copy the manufacturer’s description?

It’s better not to. Such text is impersonal and doesn’t answer your customer’s questions. Rewrite it in your own words and add delivery and payment terms.

How is a Telegram product post different?

Telegram has no carousel, so use a photo album and shorter text. Put the main benefit in the first lines, since they appear in the message preview.
