What counts as a natural backlink
A natural backlink is one you did not pay for. The author of another site links to your page because it helps their readers, because you are a supplier or partner, or because they are writing about your company. A journalist cites your research, a blogger points to your guide, a manufacturer lists you among its dealers, an event organiser publishes its list of participants.
Search engines read these links as a sign of trust. That is why backlinks are still one of the ranking signals, but they only help when they look organic: relevant to the topic and placed in a sensible context.
Why buying links does not solve the problem
Google's guidelines treat links bought to influence rankings as manipulation. Link marketplaces, exchange networks, hundreds of automated directories and private networks of sites built only for links are all patterns that search engines are able to detect. The result can be lost rankings or a manual action, and recovery usually takes longer than honest link earning would have.
There is a practical issue too. A bought link lasts only as long as you keep paying and the seller keeps the page. A natural link stays because the author has no reason to remove it.
Give people a reason to link to you
Nobody links without a reason. These formats tend to earn mentions:
For example, a window installer in Tashkent could publish a guide to choosing frames and glazing for hot summers and cold snaps, with a comparison table. A construction blog or a builders' forum might cite it. Any data you publish must be real: if you run a survey, say who you asked and how. Invented statistics damage a reputation quickly.
- Detailed guides to questions customers ask all the time: how to choose, compare or calculate.
- Reference tables with specifications, norms or side-by-side comparisons on one page.
- Calculators and checklists people want to forward to a colleague or client on Telegram.
- Your own data: customer surveys, observations from daily work, a review of your niche market.
- Expert comments for publications when the topic is in your field.
Where to look for mentions in Uzbekistan
Start with places where your company is already connected to other people and organisations:
Unlinked mentions deserve separate attention. Find articles that name your brand without linking, and politely ask the author to add a link to the relevant page. Many agree.
- Suppliers and manufacturers whose products you sell: many have a where-to-buy or partners page.
- Shopping and business centres with a tenant directory.
- Industry associations, chambers and professional communities that publish member lists.
- Organisers of exhibitions, forums and conferences, which publish exhibitor and sponsor lists.
- Online publications and industry blogs that need experts and fresh data.
- Profiles in Google Business Profile, Yandex Maps and 2GIS with a link to your site, which confirm that the business exists.
Natural link building outreach that does not feel like spam
Write to a specific person rather than sending a template to a list. Explain why your page is useful to their readers and suggest where in the text a link would fit. Do not offer payment: a link bought with money stops being natural.
If you run a small business, begin with people you already work with: suppliers, partner contractors, training centres where you have spoken. Such a request is honest because the connection is real.
How long it takes and how to track it
Natural links accumulate over months, so promising rankings by a given date would be dishonest. This is reputation work, not a switch you flip.
Once a month, open the external links report in Google Search Console and Yandex Webmaster. Keep a simple table: where the link comes from, which page it points to, and what led to it. After a few cycles you will see which formats bring mentions and can repeat them.
Where to start
First, get the site itself in order: links help little if pages load slowly, are awkward on a phone or do not answer customer questions. Then pick two or three pages worth making genuinely useful and build a list of target sites from the section above.

FAQ
Is it acceptable to ask partners for a link?
Yes, it is normal practice. Ask suppliers, contractors and event organisers to mention you on a partners or participants page. Just do not offer payment for the link.
How is a natural link different from a bought one?
You do not pay for a natural link. The author places it because the material is useful or the connection to you is real. A bought link is placed to influence rankings, which search engines regard as manipulation.
How quickly will natural links affect rankings?
Not quickly. Links build up over months, and the effect on rankings depends on competition, site quality and your niche, so no honest agency can promise an exact timeline.
Where can I see who links to my site?
In the external links report in Google Search Console and in Yandex Webmaster. Record new sources in a table and note which action led to each one.
