When you need a web page instead of a website
A website is a system: navigation, sections, a shared structure. A web page is one document built for one goal. It does not try to tell your whole company story. It takes a person from an ad to an enquiry and avoids distracting them on the way.
The typical cases are familiar in Uzbekistan. A shop in Tashkent runs a holiday sale, a training centre opens a new group, a service company in Samarkand starts offering something new. Each needs an address it can put in an Instagram bio, send to Telegram channels and attach to ads, without rearranging the main website afterwards.
How a web page differs from a website and a landing page
Preparation is different. A website starts with a map of sections; a page starts with an offer: what exactly you are selling, to whom, and on what terms. If the offer cannot be stated in two or three sentences, the problem is not design, and no layout will fix it.
A landing page is a particular kind of web page, built to receive ad traffic and push toward one action. But a web page can also be informational: promotion terms, a service description, an event programme. The difference lies in the task and in how firmly the page steers the visitor toward an enquiry.
What a working web page contains
On a short page every block is exposed, so weak copy shows up faster than it would on a large site. A sensible minimum looks like this:
- A headline that repeats the promise from the ad, and an action button on the first screen.
- The substance of the offer: what is included, under what conditions, the price or the range it moves within.
- Answers to common objections: timing, guarantees, payment through Click or Payme, delivery.
- Proof: photos of the product or site, a short video, a customer comment, a document. This is what separates the page from ten similar ads in the feed.
- A form with two or three fields and fast contact options: Telegram and a phone call.
Mobile first, two languages, one sensible address
Most visitors arrive from a phone. Someone taps an ad in Instagram and the page opens inside the app’s built-in browser. Anything that does not fit the first screen may never be seen. So the page is designed from the mobile version outward: large text, short blocks, light images. If it loads slowly on mobile internet, some people leave before they reach the offer.
For a Tashkent audience you will usually want Russian and Uzbek versions. Give them separate addresses instead of switching text on the fly; it makes it easier to send each ad to the right language. It also helps to host the page inside your main domain so it inherits the trust the domain already has. A separate domain for a one-off promotion usually just adds maintenance.
Decide in advance what happens when the promotion ends: remove the page, keep it with a note, or redirect it to a general section.
How to tell whether the page works
Before publishing, set up counters and goals: form submission, tap on the phone number, click to Telegram. Without them you cannot say whether the page produces enquiries or simply exists. With paid traffic, add the ad platform’s pixel and events so the ad account shows which ads bring enquiries and which only bring clicks.
Look at quality as well as volume: how many enquiries turned into a conversation and then a sale. A page with fewer enquiries sometimes brings in more revenue.
When one page is not enough
If you offer several services to different audiences, the promises on a single page start contradicting each other, and you need a site with sections. If the goal is search traffic, you need a set of pages, one per query, each with its own heading and text, because a single page cannot rank for everything at once. A catalogue, a customer account or online payment is already website or web application development.
There is also a practical middle path: the main site is outdated, but the offer has to launch now. The page collects enquiries while the site is rebuilt and then moves into the new structure.
How to start
The workflow is straightforward: offer, block structure, copy, design and layout, form and analytics. Cost depends on how many blocks there are, how many language versions you need, which integrations are involved and whether texts and photos already exist. If they do not, they have to be produced, and that affects timing.
At markdev we build such pages as part of turnkey website development and connect them to advertising and analytics. If you have a promotion, an event or a service to launch, describe the task and we will tell you whether one page will do or whether it is better to plan a full site from the start.
FAQ
What is the difference between a web page and a landing page?
A landing page is a type of web page built for ad traffic and one target action. A web page can also be purely informational, such as a service description, promotion terms or an event programme.
Can I add a page to my existing website?
Yes, and it is often the best option. The page gets an address inside your domain, inherits its trust and style, and you can send Instagram and Telegram ads straight to it.
What affects the timeline and cost of a single page?
Mainly how ready your materials are and the scope: whether the offer, copy and photos exist, how many languages you need and which integrations are required. Producing content from scratch adds both time and budget.
