Define the job before you shortlist anyone
Many owners start with a studio's name and ask for a quote straight away. A better first step is to write down what the site must do: collect enquiries, take online orders, accept payments, or simply build trust before a first meeting. Each of those is a different project with a different budget.
A shop in Tashkent needs a cart and payment through Click or Payme. A clinic in Samarkand may only need an appointment form. A wholesale company in Andijan might need a catalogue and a button to request prices. Until the goal is clear, quotes cannot be compared fairly.
Which type of website fits your business
A landing page suits one service or one promotion. A corporate site brings together company information, services and contacts. An online store sells products and takes payments. A catalogue with an enquiry form works well for B2B.
Think about where your customers come from, too. In Uzbekistan, many buyers discover businesses through Instagram, Telegram, OLX and Uzum, so the site has to open quickly on a phone and keep people moving from ad to enquiry. Sometimes a Telegram bot next to the site does more for sales than one more page.
What a website price is made of
Two quotes with the same total can cover very different work. Ask for a line-by-line breakdown and find out what is excluded: revisions, content upload, staff training, hosting renewal.
- Design: a ready-made template or custom layouts.
- Structure and copy: who writes the texts and who owns the content.
- Build: a site builder, a CMS, or custom code.
- Integrations: payments, CRM, Telegram, SMS notifications, stock records.
- Languages: Uzbek, Russian and English where needed.
- Domain, hosting and support after launch.
- SEO basics and analytics setup.
Freelancer, small team or agency
A freelancer is often cheaper and faster on simple tasks, but the project depends on one person. If they fall ill or disappear, work stops. A small team with a designer, a developer and a manager is a balanced choice. A full-service agency costs more, yet it can connect the site with advertising, SEO and analytics.
The real difference is rarely the price. It is who is accountable for the result and whether they report in numbers rather than impressions. Choose by how complex your task is and what happens after launch, not by how well known a name sounds.
What to check before you sign
Ask for working websites, not screenshots, and test the loading speed and the enquiry form on your own phone.
- Who owns the site, the domain and the admin access after delivery. All of it should be registered to you.
- Which stages exist and what counts as acceptance.
- Whether deadlines and responsibility for missing them are written down, not just promised in a chat.
- How the site performs on an ordinary smartphone with average mobile internet.
- Who handles meta tags, URL structure and redirects.
- Who fixes bugs after launch and how quickly.
- Whether there are live projects you can open yourself.
Analytics and SEO from day one
A common mistake is launching a site with no measurement. A month later nobody can say whether it pays off. Agree on goals in advance: enquiries, calls, completed orders, payments. Set up web analytics, track buttons and forms, and if you plan Meta Ads or Google Ads, add the pixel and conversion events.
SEO also belongs in the build stage: page structure, headings, speed, and Russian and Uzbek versions. Fixing these after launch costs more than doing them properly the first time.
Where to start
Write a short brief: what you do, who you sell to, what action a visitor should take, and which sites you like. With that in hand you can talk to any developer and compare offers on equal terms.
If you would like to talk it through, markdev builds turnkey websites in Uzbekistan and ties them to advertising and analytics from the start. Tell us about your business and we will work out which format you need, and say so plainly if a simpler solution is enough.
FAQ
How much does website development cost in Uzbekistan?
It depends on the site type, amount of design, integrations, number of languages and support. Ask for an itemised estimate and compare what is included rather than the final total.
Do I need a website if I already have Instagram and Telegram?
Social networks bring in customers, but a website is yours: it appears in search, takes enquiries and payments, and does not depend on platform rules. For many businesses the three work best together.
Should the site have an Uzbek version?
In most cases yes. Part of your audience searches and reads in Uzbek, and a separate language version also helps in search. Plan it into the project from the start.
Who owns the website after launch?
The domain, hosting and admin access should be registered in your name. Make this a separate clause in the contract.
