Types of website rankings in Uzbekistan
There is no single official ranking of Uzbek websites that everyone trusts. So the query usually points to one of four different things, and mixing them up leads to bad decisions.
A site can be hugely popular and still sell very little, while a modest site for a workshop in Samarkand can bring in steady orders every week. The measures simply answer different questions.
- Traffic rankings: which sites and marketplaces attract the most visits. These come from third-party tools and are estimates, not exact counters.
- Search positions: where a page appears on Google for specific queries.
- Agency and developer lists: directories of studios you could hire to build a site.
- Technical scores: loading speed, mobile usability, security.
Why traffic rankings say little about your business
Large platforms such as OLX or Uzum play in a different league, with their own brands, apps and advertising budgets. A clinic, a furniture shop or a language school has no reason to measure itself against them.
For a small or mid-sized business, total traffic matters less than how many visitors leave a phone number, message you on Telegram or pay through Click or Payme. A thousand relevant visitors beat ten thousand random ones.
One more caveat: third-party traffic estimates for smaller sites are often rough. The real numbers live in your own analytics.
So when you see someone else's high ranking, skip the question of how to copy it. Ask what outcome you actually need: leads, sales, bookings or brand awareness.
How to read web agency ratings
If you are choosing a contractor, a ranking is only a starting point. Lists of top studios are often compiled by the studios themselves or by platforms that sell placement, so a high position does not guarantee quality.
It is safer to check the substance behind the list.
- Live projects: open portfolio sites on your phone and see how fast they load.
- Verifiable references: contact a past client directly.
- Scope of work: design, front-end build, payment integration, analytics, SEO basics, post-launch support.
- What drives the price: number of pages, complexity of logic, CRM and payment integrations, number of languages.
- Reporting: is the agency ready to show numbers instead of general promises?
- Ownership: the domain and hosting should be registered in your name.
Metrics to treat as your own website ranking
The most useful ranking is one you build yourself: a short set of indicators you track every month and compare against your own previous results, not against other people's sites.
This needs a basic setup: Google Analytics, Search Console, and goals for buttons and lead forms. Without it, building a website becomes an expense whose payback you cannot verify.
- Number of leads and calls coming from the site.
- Cost per lead, including ad spend in soums.
- Conversion rate: the share of visitors who take the target action.
- Positions for key queries in both Russian and Uzbek.
- Mobile loading speed, checked in PageSpeed Insights.
- Traffic sources: search, Instagram, Telegram, paid ads.
What to do if your site lags behind competitors
Start by comparing your site with competitors in your city on concrete points: is it clear from the first screen what you offer, are prices or at least ranges shown, is the enquiry form easy to use, does the site work in Uzbek and Russian? The gap is often about structure and speed rather than visual design.
Then decide whether to improve the current site or rebuild it. If the foundation is outdated, slow and awkward on phones, a rebuild is usually the saner option, as long as you keep the URLs of pages that already bring traffic so you do not lose search positions.

There is no single official ranking that everyone accepts. People rely on third-party estimates, which are approximate. Exact data about your own site comes only from your own analytics.
Can I trust web agency rankings?
Use them as a starting point only. Check live projects, talk to past clients, and ask what the price includes and how reporting works.
Which metrics matter most for a small business website?
Number and cost of leads, conversion rate, positions for key queries and mobile loading speed. Total traffic is secondary.
How can I see where my site stands against competitors?
Compare search positions for your main queries, speed, clarity of the first screen and the usability of your enquiry form. Search Console and PageSpeed Insights are good free starting tools.
