What the Yandex Webmaster site speed report shows
The report is built from real page loads, mainly collected through Yandex services and its browser. So it reflects what actual people experienced, with their devices, plans and connection quality. Pages with little traffic may not have enough data, and a new site will often see an empty or partial report.
Pages are sorted into fast, medium and slow groups, separately for mobile and desktop. You can also open sample pages from each group and watch the trend. Yandex may change its methodology, so check the in-product help if labels look different from what you expected.
How to read it without getting lost
You do not need to study every URL. The report tells you how big the problem is and which kind of page it affects.
- Share of pages in the slow group is the headline number. Watch whether it grows or shrinks.
- The gap between mobile and desktop. If phones are clearly worse, look for heavy scripts and images.
- Sample slow pages show which templates are the problem: product cards, categories or articles.
- The trend after your fixes. Judge it after a few weeks, not the next morning.
Why it will not match PageSpeed Insights
PageSpeed Insights gives two kinds of data: field data from Chrome users and a lab run of one simulated load. Yandex Webmaster relies on Yandex’s own audience. Different people and different methods mean different numbers, and that is normal.
A practical rule: Webmaster tells you that a problem exists and where, while a lab test helps explain why. The report itself does not diagnose causes, so you still need browser developer tools and a look at the heaviest resources.
What usually slows sites down in Uzbekistan
Many visitors arrive on affordable smartphones over mobile internet, and the hosting server is sometimes far from the audience. For a shop selling through Instagram, Telegram or marketplaces such as Uzum and OLX, a slow product page means a lost buyer: the person goes back to the messenger and orders from whoever replied faster.
- Slow server response, especially on pages without caching
- Heavy photos and video in the first screen
- Third-party scripts: chat widgets, callback buttons, counters, ad pixels
- Fonts loaded from external servers
- A server located far from your main audience
A working order of fixes
Think in templates, not single pages. If the slow list is mostly product cards, the cause usually sits in the card template: the gallery, the reviews block, the recommendations. Fix the template and hundreds of pages speed up at once.
- Find out which page types fall into the slow group.
- Take one example of each type and run it through a lab test.
- Fix the biggest causes: caching, image compression and modern formats, deferred widgets, removal of duplicate counters.
- Never lazy-load the main image of the first screen; it should appear first.
- Check the result on a real phone, then wait for Webmaster data to refresh.
Setting expectations and reporting to your boss
A good score does not automatically lift rankings; speed is one factor among many. But a slow site loses visitors, worsens behavioral signals and reduces enquiries, so the work pays off even without promises about positions.
Management needs only three things: what share of mobile pages is rated slow, which page types they are, and what you are changing. A month later, show the same picture after the fixes and compare it with mobile leads in Yandex Metrica, where you can also compare bounce rates for fast and slow visits.

FAQ
Why does Yandex Webmaster show no speed data for my site?
The report is based on real visits. A new site or pages with little traffic may not have enough data. It needs time and more visitors.
How soon will my fixes show up in the report?
Not immediately. Data accumulates from real visits, so judge the outcome a few weeks after the changes. Use a lab test for an instant check.
Which matters more, Yandex Webmaster or PageSpeed Insights?
They complement each other. Webmaster shows the experience of Yandex’s audience, PageSpeed helps find causes. Look at both and verify on a real phone.
Where should I start if resources are limited?
With mobile pages and the most common template, usually the product or service card. Compress images, enable caching, defer chat widgets and remove unused scripts.
