Design and development are not the same job
A designer draws the page in a graphics tool: block order, fonts, colours, buttons. A developer, often called a front-end or layout developer, converts that picture into HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript. A mockup cannot accept a request or adapt to a screen. It only becomes a page once it is built.
That is why good work starts with reviewing the design, not writing code. Is there a mobile version? Are button and form states defined? Is it clear how blocks rearrange on a narrow screen? If not, decisions get made on the fly and the result is inconsistent.
What landing page development should include
Compare quotes by scope, not only by the total. A solid build normally covers the following.
- Page structure that follows the design, with a sensible heading hierarchy.
- Responsive layout for phone, tablet and laptop widths.
- Compressed images and fonts so the page stays light.
- Working forms, call buttons and links to Telegram or WhatsApp.
- Analytics and ad pixels connected before launch.
- Testing in several browsers and on real devices.
Mobile experience and speed
In Tashkent and in the regions, a buyer often reaches your landing page from an Instagram feed or a Telegram message, holding the phone in one hand. If the first screen takes long to appear, the button sits below the fold or the text needs pinch-zooming, they close the tab. The ad money is already spent.
Build for the phone first and expand to desktop afterwards. Compress heavy photos, drop unnecessary animation, and check that fonts render Cyrillic and Uzbek Latin characters such as o‘ and g‘ correctly. Test the page on a modest, inexpensive phone, not only on the developer’s new one.
Forms, leads and analytics
A landing page exists to trigger an action: a lead form, a phone call, an order in a Telegram bot or a payment through Click or Payme. The developer should test the whole path. What happens after the click, where does the lead go, does the visitor see a confirmation, and what appears if the phone number is mistyped?
Set up tracking before launch as well. Form submissions, taps on the phone number and clicks to messengers need to be recorded, otherwise you cannot tell which ads bring enquiries and which only burn budget. Fixing this after a campaign has started is slower and more expensive.
What affects the cost
The price of a build is driven by complexity rather than the number of screens. The main factors are the number of unique blocks, animation and interactive elements, the number of languages (Russian and Uzbek versions double the content and the checks), integrations with a CRM, payment systems or bots, and whether the page is hand-coded or assembled in a site builder.
A very cheap offer often means responsiveness, speed work or analytics are not included. Ask the contractor to list the scope in writing and to explain what will be tested before handover.
Handover checklist
Before you sign off, spend half an hour testing it yourself. Open the page on your phone over mobile data, not office Wi-Fi, and walk through the customer’s journey from start to finish.
- The first screen is clear at once and the main button is visible without scrolling.
- The layout does not jump while loading and needs no zooming.
- The form submits, and the lead reaches you and is stored.
- Phone and messenger links open with a tap.
- Page title and description are set, and the link looks good when shared in Telegram.
- Analytics events fire in test mode.
Where to start
Before looking for a developer, define the page’s goal and the metric you will judge it by: cost per lead, share of visitors who leave contacts, or traffic coming from ads. That decides which blocks you need and what to test. Without a goal, development turns into an argument about taste.
At markdev we build websites and landing pages end to end, from structure and design to layout, analytics and ad launch. If you have a design or only an idea, tell us about the task and we will suggest the format that suits your business.
FAQ
How is landing page development different from building a website?
Development here means building the page from a finished design. Building a website is broader: structure, copy, design, forms, integrations and analytics. For a small landing page, the build is often the main part of the technical work.
Do I need a separate mobile version?
No, if the page is built responsively and adapts to screen width. But a mobile design should exist, otherwise the developer has to guess how things should look.
Is a site builder or hand-coded development better?
A builder launches faster and suits simple tests of an idea. Hand-coded development gives more control over speed, appearance and integrations. The right choice depends on your goals, budget and plans for the page.
How can I tell the work was done well?
Open the page on a phone over mobile data, send a test lead and confirm that analytics records the events. If everything works without manual fixes, the build is sound.
