Why Tilda page URLs matter
When you create a page, Tilda assigns it a technical address with a number. Neither a visitor nor a search robot can tell what the page is about from that. Replacing it with a readable address in the page settings is a small task that makes the whole site easier to understand.
The address also feeds everything else: your menu, buttons, blog links, and the links you place in Instagram bios, Telegram channels and map listings all depend on it.
What a good address looks like
The rules are simple. What matters is applying them consistently across the whole site.
- Latin letters, lowercase, words separated by hyphens: /air-conditioner-repair.
- Short and descriptive, without filler words.
- No dates or campaign names that go out of date quickly.
- A predictable structure: services under one section, articles under /blog.
- For Uzbek words, drop the apostrophe-like marks: write ornatish, not o‘rnatish.
Changing the URL of a live page
Give new pages a clean address before you publish. A page that is already indexed and bringing in enquiries is different. If its address is only numeric but it ranks well, the gain from renaming may be smaller than the risk, so weigh it.
If you do change it, go in order: note the old address, set the new one, add a permanent redirect from old to new, update every internal link and button, republish, and test that the old address lands on the new page. The redirect also protects links you cannot edit, such as old posts on Telegram or a listing on Google Maps.
Anchors are not separate pages
One-page sites often rely on anchor links that scroll to Services, Prices and Contacts. That is convenient for visitors, but a search engine sees a single document. Imagine a Tashkent clinic that wants to be found for one specific procedure. If that procedure is only a block on the home page, it cannot compete for its own query. Give each important service its own page with its own address, heading and text.
Internal links and link text
A page that nothing links to is harder for a crawler to find and looks unimportant. Make sure each key page gets links from the menu or footer, the home page, blog articles and related services. Breadcrumbs help on sites with nested sections.
Link text works as a hint as well. “Air conditioner installation terms” tells Google and the reader far more than “click here”. Short button labels are fine, but use descriptive wording inside paragraphs. Always link to your main domain over HTTPS, not the project’s technical address.
Buttons, messengers and external links
After renaming pages, check every button. Copying blocks from one page to another often carries old addresses along. Use the tel: format for phone numbers and a correct chat, channel or bot link for Telegram, then test both on a real phone, since that is where many of your customers will tap them.
Outbound links to sources, partners and documents are fine when they help the reader. Mark paid or advertising links as sponsored, and links you cannot vouch for as nofollow. Opening them in a new tab keeps people on your site.
Broken links, mobile and multilingual sites
Crawl the site from time to time and review the not-found report in Search Console. 404 errors usually appear after pages are deleted or renamed. On mobile, check that buttons are large enough and not overlapping, especially in Zero Block layouts, and that an anchor menu closes after a tap.
If you run Uzbek and Russian versions, keep their address structure parallel, such as /uz/xizmatlar and /ru/uslugi. That makes hreflang setup easier and reduces mistakes.
