Why a website FAQ section is worth building
Almost every buyer hesitates before sending a request. How much will it cost, when will it be ready, can I pay through Click or Payme, what happens if I am not happy with the result? If the page does not answer, the visitor compares you with another site, asks in Instagram Direct, or simply postpones the decision.
The second benefit is less repetitive work for your team. When routine questions are answered on the page, the messages that reach managers are more specific and more serious.
The third is search. People often type queries as questions, such as how much something costs, how to order, or what the difference is between two options. Clear answers on your page match those phrasings, so the page can appear for additional queries. There is no guarantee of landing in answer boxes or related-question blocks, so treat the value for customers as the main goal.
Where to find the right questions
Inventing questions at a desk is the most common mistake. The real wording already exists in your daily work; you only need to collect it.
- Sales staff, administrators and operators: ask them to note repeated questions for a week.
- Chats in Telegram, Instagram Direct and WhatsApp.
- Reviews and comments, including questions under Uzum products and OLX listings.
- Objections that made people walk away.
- Search suggestions and the related-questions block for your main queries.
- Competitor sites, not to copy but to spot what you have not covered.
How to write the answers
Let the first sentence answer the question directly, then add a short explanation. Do not open with the company history, and do not dodge the topic of price.
If the honest answer is that it depends, say what it depends on. For a website, the cost depends on the number of pages, the features required, payment integration and the amount of design work. That is more useful than saying the price is individual, even without a single figure.
Compare two answers to the question of whether a customer can pay with Click. The weak one: we offer flexible payment terms. The strong one: yes, you can pay through Click or Payme, and the receipt arrives in Telegram. The second removes the doubt at once. The example shows the format; write only what is actually true for your business.
Where to put a website FAQ section
On service and product pages, keep questions about that specific service or product: what is included, how the work goes, what the limits are. A general FAQ page suits questions about the company, payment and delivery, but it does not replace questions on the individual pages.
Do not paste the same block on every page. For visitors it is noise, and for search it is duplicate content. A few precise questions beat a long list of twenty.
Design and structured data
Accordion blocks save space, especially on phones, but the answer text must be present in the page code rather than loaded only after a click. Otherwise search engines may not see it.
FAQPage markup helps search engines understand the structure of questions and answers. Google has limited the display of FAQ rich results, so do not count on a prominent snippet. If you add markup, it must match the visible text exactly.
Keeping the section current
An FAQ goes stale like prices and terms do. When deadlines, payment methods or delivery conditions change, update the answers the same day. Add new questions that arrive through enquiries and remove outdated ones. A wrong answer does more harm than no answer.
If you are building a new site or reworking an old one, plan the FAQ together with the page structure. At markdev we develop websites turnkey and design the question blocks from real customer enquiries rather than from a template. If you would like to discuss your site, get in touch.
FAQ
How many questions should an FAQ have?
As many as customers genuinely ask about that page. For a single service or product, a few precise questions are usually enough. If there are many, group them by topic.
Is FAQPage markup required?
No. It helps search engines read the block's structure, but rich results for FAQs are limited. What matters most is visible text that helps the user.
Can I hide answers in accordion blocks?
Yes, as long as the text is in the page code and not loaded only on click. On mobile this format is usually more convenient.
Is one general FAQ page enough?
No. A general page works for payment, delivery and company questions, but each service or product page needs its own questions about that specific offer.
