Why meta tags matter for a local business
The title is the clickable headline in search results and the label on the browser tab. The description is the short text underneath. The title helps a search engine understand what the page is about, while the description helps a person decide whether to open it.
Picture a Tashkent renovation company whose page ranks for a relevant query but shows a headline that just says Home. A competitor with a clear snippet gets the click. Fixing meta tags costs no ad budget, only careful attention page by page.
Where to set meta tags in Tilda
Each page has its own settings with basic fields for the title, description and address, plus separate blocks for search engines and for social networks. If the SEO fields are empty, Tilda may fall back to the basic ones. It is safer to fill everything in yourself and control what users see.
Do this for every page: home, each service, about, contacts and catalog cards. Copying one title across the whole site is the most common mistake and one of the costliest.
How to write a title
The title is one of the strongest signals of a page topic, so write it for one specific query that the page answers. For example: Stretch ceilings in Tashkent — measuring and installation | Brand. Weak versions are Home, or the same company name on every page.
- put the main query first
- add a short benefit or clarification
- place the brand name last, if space allows
- give every page a unique title
- do not stuff in ten comma-separated queries
- keep it short so the end is not cut off
Writing a description that earns the click
A description does not directly move rankings, but it affects whether people click your snippet. Use one or two sentences that say what the visitor will find and why it is worth opening. Add specifics such as districts served, terms, or payment by Click and Payme if customers care about it.
Put the key point first, since long descriptions get trimmed. Google may swap your text for a fragment of the page when that fits the query better, but a well written description is often kept.
Telegram and social link previews
In Uzbekistan, links to websites travel through Telegram constantly, so the preview is part of your sales funnel. In the social settings of a Tilda page you set a title, description and image. The title should make sense outside the context of your site, and the image should be a clear horizontal picture that stays readable when small.
When these fields are empty, Telegram may show a random image or none. If an old preview keeps appearing after your edit, that is usually caching. Wait a while or send the link to yourself again.
Indexing, canonical URLs and bilingual pages
Thank-you pages after a form, test copies and internal pages do not belong in search, so switch on the no-index option in their settings. If two pages are near duplicates, such as an ad landing page and the main service page, a canonical address tells search engines which one counts. Use it carefully: a wrong canonical can remove a needed page from results.
Title and H1 are different things. The title appears in search and on the tab, the H1 on the page itself, and they should match in meaning but need not be identical. On a Russian and Uzbek site, write meta tags in the language of each page; a copied Uzbek page with Russian tags looks careless and matches queries worse.
How to check Tilda meta tags and measure results
Open the page and read the tab title, send the link to yourself in Telegram, search the page with the site operator, and run a crawler to find duplicate or empty titles and descriptions. The old keywords tag is not worth the time, as Google has said it does not use it for ranking.
A few weeks after editing, compare the CTR of those pages in Search Console with the previous period. Pages with many impressions and few clicks are the first to rewrite. Tags also go stale when services or prices change, so review them regularly. FAQ
Do I need to fill in meta tags on every Tilda page?
Yes. Title and description are set in each page's settings and should be unique. If you leave them empty, the builder fills them in, and the result is often weak.
Does the meta description affect rankings?
Not directly, but it influences clicks on your snippet. Google sometimes picks its own text, yet a good description is often used.
Why does Telegram show an old preview after I changed it?
Telegram can cache link previews. Wait a while or resend the link, and check that the social fields and image are filled in.
Should I fill in the keywords tag?
It is not necessary. Google has said it does not use it for ranking, so your time is better spent on titles and descriptions.
