Why a Tilda site needs Search Console
Google Search Console shows which pages Google has indexed, which searches your site appears for, how many clicks it earned and which technical errors or security issues exist. For a small business site built on a website builder, it is the most reliable view of how search actually treats you.
Set it up as soon as your own domain is connected to Tilda. Data only starts accumulating after ownership is verified, and you cannot recover the earlier period later. Whether you run a clinic landing page in Tashkent or an online shop that takes Click and Payme payments, every week without it is statistics lost.
Choose the right property type
When you add a site, Search Console offers two options.
- A Domain property covers every variant of your address: with and without www, HTTP and HTTPS, and subdomains. It can only be verified through a DNS record.
- A URL-prefix property covers one exact address, such as https://example.uz without www. It can be verified in several ways, including a meta tag.
Verify ownership: DNS or meta tag
If you can edit your domain’s DNS, choose the Domain property. Search Console gives you a TXT record to add wherever your DNS is managed, usually the registrar or hosting panel. Changes do not always apply instantly, so if verification fails, wait and try again. Keep the record in place afterwards, or verification will lapse.
If DNS is out of reach, for example because a former contractor registered the domain, use a URL-prefix property with the meta tag. Copy the tag from Search Console, open your site settings in Tilda and paste it into the field for custom HTML in the head. Republish the site, then click verify. If it still fails, make sure the code went into site-wide settings rather than a single page, and that the publish actually completed.
Submit the sitemap and inspect URLs
Tilda generates a sitemap automatically at yourdomain/sitemap.xml. Add that address in the Sitemaps section. After a while the status will show whether Google processed the file and how many pages it found. If the count is lower than expected, check whether some pages are hidden from search in their page settings.
The URL Inspection tool is useful for individual pages. Paste an address and you will see whether it is indexed, when it was last crawled, which canonical address Google chose and how the page looks to the crawler. You can request indexing for an important new page, but there is no need to do it after every small edit.
What to check in the first weeks
Once the property is connected, run through a short checklist:
- Are any important pages listed among the excluded ones?
- Are technical Tilda addresses indexed instead of clean URLs?
- Are thank-you pages shown after a form submission indexed? It is better to keep them out of search.
- Are there any manual action or security messages?
- The Core Web Vitals report, once enough data builds up. On Tilda, heavy background images and videos are the usual cause of slow pages.
Reading the Performance report
After a few weeks you will see impressions, clicks, CTR and average position by query and by page. Look for pages with many impressions but few clicks: they usually need a clearer title or description. Rewriting them can bring more visitors without any ad spend.
If you use Google Analytics, link it to Search Console so queries and visitor behavior sit in one place. In Uzbekistan people search in both Russian and Uzbek, so review queries in each language separately.
Common mistakes and giving access to a contractor
If data is missing or looks odd, check the usual suspects: a URL-prefix property verified without HTTPS while the site runs on HTTPS; the technical Tilda project address verified instead of your own domain; a meta tag that disappeared when site settings changed; or a site moved to a new domain without creating a property for it.
Give your marketer or agency access through the property’s user management, never by sharing your Google password. Ownership stays with the company, and if you change contractors you simply remove the user. In the first months, open the console at least once a week so indexing problems are caught early.

FAQ
Should I pick a Domain or URL-prefix property for Tilda?
Pick a Domain property if you can edit DNS, since it gathers data across all address variants. If you cannot, a URL-prefix property with a meta tag works.
Why does Search Console not accept my meta tag?
Most often the code was added to a single page instead of site-wide settings, or the site was not republished after pasting it. Fix that and verify again.
How long until data appears?
It can take several weeks. Data is collected only from the moment ownership is verified.
Do I need to submit every page for indexing?
No, the sitemap is enough. Use an indexing request for important new pages or major changes.
