Yandex Metrica on Tilda: Setup and Lead Goals

Connecting Yandex Metrica to a Tilda site takes a few minutes, but the real value comes from the goals you set afterwards. Done properly, it tells you which pages and channels bring enquiries, not just visitors, which matters when most of your leads come through calls and Telegram.

Why a Tilda site needs Metrica

A site builder lets you launch a landing page quickly, and it is easy to assume the job is finished. Ads are running, some enquiries arrive. Yet without analytics you cannot answer basic questions. How many people from Instagram reached the form? Does organic search produce anything? Where do visitors leave a long catalogue page?

Yandex Metrica is free and works with Tilda through a built-in integration, so there is no code to paste. For businesses in Tashkent and the regions it is also handy because Yandex and Google traffic sit in the same report.

Connecting the counter

Start by creating a counter in Metrica: enter your domain and choose the Tashkent time zone. This is also where you can switch on Webvisor session recording and the click map. Then copy the counter number.

In Tilda, open the site settings, find the analytics section, paste the number into the Yandex Metrica field and republish every page, not only the home page. Otherwise the counter will be missing on some pages.

  • Open your site and check that the visit appears in today's report.
  • Turn off your ad blocker while testing, as it can hide the counter.
  • If the integration is on, do not add the code manually or through Google Tag Manager as well, or visits will be counted twice.
  • Make sure visits are recorded on inner pages, not just the home page.

Tracking form submissions as goals

A goal is the action your site exists to produce. There are two reliable ways to track forms. The first: Tilda passes a form-submission event to Metrica, and you create a JavaScript event goal with the matching identifier. Take the exact name from Tilda's help pages, because it can change.

The second is simpler and easier to verify: set a thank-you page in the form settings and create a goal for visiting that page in Metrica. It is wise to keep that page out of search indexing so that stray visitors do not trigger the goal.

  • Send a test enquiry and confirm the goal shows up in the report.
  • Check that one enquiry produces one goal completion, not two.
  • If you have an enquiry form, a callback form and a subscription form, give each its own goal.

Calls and Telegram: the enquiries most reports miss

In Uzbekistan many customers never fill in a form. They tap the phone number or message you on Telegram because it is faster. If you only count forms, the report shows fewer enquiries than you really get, and you may wrongly conclude that ads or SEO are not working.

Create goals for clicks on the phone link and for clicks on the Telegram link. The buttons must be real links for this to work: if a Tilda block uses an image with no link attached, Metrica sees nothing.

Webvisor and clean data

Webvisor records visitor sessions. On long landing pages it quickly shows where people give up, which non-clickable elements they try to press, and who never reaches the form. Watch recordings by segment, for example visitors from search only. If you collect personal data, keep privacy requirements in mind.

Another common problem is your own traffic: visits from you and your developer distort statistics, especially on a small site. Exclude internal traffic with an IP filter or another available method.

Judging SEO results in Metrica

Once the counter and goals work, open the sources report and apply a search-engine segment. See how many goals come from Yandex and Google visits, then group by landing page. This shows which pages truly bring enquiries and which only collect traffic.

Linking Metrica with Yandex Webmaster is useful too, because search queries then appear next to on-site behaviour. After every significant change, such as a new form or a redesigned page, send a test enquiry and check the goals again.

FAQ

Do I need to paste the Metrica code into Tilda manually?

No. Enter the counter number in the site's analytics settings and republish the pages. Adding the code manually alongside the integration makes visits count twice.

Why does Metrica show fewer enquiries than I actually receive?

Usually only forms are tracked, while phone clicks and Telegram clicks are not set up as goals. Buttons without real links can also cause gaps.

How do I check that a form goal works?

Submit a test enquiry from the site and open the goals report. One enquiry should give one completion. Repeat the check after any change to the form.

Can Metrica show whether SEO is working?

Yes. Apply a search-engine segment, look at goal completions and group by landing page. That shows which pages bring enquiries from search.
